Code Scrambler
Protect your Microsoft Dynamics AX Add-On Solution Investment against theft!

Open source has always been bad news for ISV/partners who wanted to distribute and sell add-on solutions through other partners. Open Source invites “inspirational” development or down right source code theft (plagiarism). All ISVs are exposed to this constant threat to their investment every day. This risk is also a major reason why many ISVs hold back their great add-on solutions to Axapta from the reseller channel.

Now there is a way to fight Software Plagiarism.

Next Innovation’s Code Scrambler service provides a brand new and innovative way to protect against plagiarism. The code scrambling basically makes your application readable to only Axapta and its compiler. The scrambling is done safely by semantically changing the source code and element names in the AOT tree. All identifiers will be encrypted or scrambled (see inserts to the right).

The scrambled version can then safely be distributed through the reseller channel without any concern for plagiarism. This also prevents resellers from “servicing” or meddling with your add-on solution, making it easier for you to provide support. It also opens up a way to increase revenue by offering customizations of your add-on solution through other resellers to the end customer — something that is not possible today.

The Service

Fee is based on the number of identifier scrambles throughout the source code and the AOT tree. For example, scrambling a table field will require all references to the field to be changed or scrambled. We count the number of changes required. Service performed by Microsoft Certified Senior Dynamics AX Developers who were part of the original Axapta design team. Complete price quote requires analysis of the application by NI developers and costs $1,500.
